The Paramedic Lab Instructor is responsible for developing, conducting and evaluating laboratory training sessions for the MVHS EMS Education Paramedic Program. Assists with other components of the Paramedic Program to help maintain effectiveness of the program and the students. Assist with the coordination of American Heart Association Training Center responsibilities and serves as a resource to staff, students, the course sponsor and NYS DOH Division of State EMS. Participates in Performance Improvement activities and committees related to EMS Education.Core Job Responsibilities Facilitates hands on course sessions in accordance with accepted NYS DOH curricula, the National Education Standards and the NYS protocols. Schedules adequate and appropriate Clinical Lab Instructors (CLI), proctors and/or ancillary staff to provide positive learning for all students for Paramedic Lab sessions. Communicates with other training sites within the paramedic program to ensure uniformity in all lab sessions. Facilitates the setup and breakdown of all practical skills equipment during the course, including practical skills exam. Ensure MVHS EMS Education equipment is maintained, properly stored and functional for future sessions. Coordinates lab testing during the program. Collects and submits student evaluations accurately and timely. Serves as a resource or point of contact for paramedic students in the lab sessions. Provides guidance and expertise to CLIs, proctors and other staff on lab sessions. Monitors the students while taking their written exams. Coordinates didactic makeup sessions for student absences. Grades module examinations and quizzes. Facilitates the AHA courses included in the program (BLS, ACLS, PALS). Oversees the documentation of all labs in electronic learning system and monitor student progress. Performs other duties as required.
