About The Position

Assist patients and health care needs as directed by clinician during Emergency Department visit including performing 12 lead EKGs, blood draws, initiate Hep-locks, bedside point of care testing, aerosol treatments. Ensures the daily completion of point of care testing quality controls, defibrillator checks, refrigerator checks, transports. Performs ABGs and gain IV access as directed by order. Prepares patients and care environment for exam, specimen collection and anticipates needs of patients and providers proactively. Performs delegated basic procedures as described by their annual competency based tool and orientation program.

Requirements

  • Graduated from a state accredited paramedic program.
  • 3+ years Paramedic Experience (Level II).
  • 5+ years Paramedic Experience (Level III) OR Associates degree and 3 years’ experience OR Bachelors of Science degree in Emergency Medical Services.
  • Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Organize changing work assignments.
