Requirements

Valid Iowa Advanced EMT or Paramedic Certification
Maintain ongoing education and certifications from the IDPH Bureau of EMS
Maintain Basic Life Support certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (paramedic)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (paramedic) upon hire
Neonatal Resuscitation (paramedic) certification within 1 year of hire
Current Iowa Driver’s License
Clinical knowledge necessary to competently perform quality patient care duties as defined in job responsibilities and as appropriate for level of certification
Able to read, write, and follow written or oral instructions
Maintain knowledge and skills in all areas within scope of practice
Demonstrate strong customer service skills
Display a high degree of empathy, tact, and kindness toward others
Ability to communicate well and work effectively with others
Be a team player
National Registry Advanced EMT/Paramedic Certification
Post-offer, pre-employment fit-for-duty assessment required
Influenza vaccination required
