About The Position

The Paramedic –Emergency Department Care Technician works under the direction of a RN to care for patients within the Emergency Department. This individual will room patients, taking vital signs, initiating intravenous lines, drawing blood, performing 12-lead EKGs, applying splints, assisting with procedures and patient monitoring. The Paramedic – Emergency Department works in a team environment to provide necessary care to our patients and their families and may assist in other clinical departments as assigned under the direction of the RN. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a paramedic program.
  • Proficient with reading, writing and speaking English.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association within six months of hire.
  • Current Applicable State Paramedic license.
  • Current driver’s license with acceptable record may be required (varies by department/location).

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in paramedicine.
  • Experience as a paramedic.
  • Proficient with reading, writing and speaking in alternate languages.
