Job Summary Under the direction of the clinical director, clinical coordinator, or the Registered Nurse (RN performs a variety of duties for each patientΓÇÖs age specific needs via the utilization of care based on paramedic scope of practice in accordance with Hospital and Emergency department policies and procedures.)

Requirements

  • Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of experience as a paramedic with IV access experience
  • Current State of Connecticut EMT-P license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to obtain adn maintain Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information.
  • Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use).
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Works efficiently and organizes time appropriately.
  • Must be organized, flexible and a team player.
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a hectic work environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative in all job related activities.
  • Basic computer knowledge in order to enter/retrieve data.
  • Work is performed in accordance with instructions and procedures.
  • Requires the ability to take the appropriate action in response to changes, circumstances or problems.
  • Ability to react and perform under strict timelines and/or emergency situation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Computer experience preferred.
  • Current State of Connecticut EMT-P license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training.
