Role Summary: Performs critical life support patient care, advanced airway management and transport management. Assumes responsibility for the operation and maintenance of emergency vehicles. Requirements

  • Required Education: EMS Certificate with Community College or Associate of Science in EMS. Must complete and maintain continuing education or re-certification class as required by NC OEMS.
  • Required License: North Carolina EMT-P certification. North Carolina drivers license and must meet insurance guidelines. Must obtain ITLS or PHTLS, BCLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP within one year of employment. Must have a valid NC driver's license or procure one within 30 days of employment unless an out-of-state commuter, at least two years of satisfactory driving experience and be at least 21 years of age to meet the Mission Health established insurance guidelines.
  • Required Experience: None.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Education: Bachelors in EMS
  • Preferred License: National Registry, UMBC CCEMT-P.
  • Preferred Experience: One year of full-time active pre-hospital care or equivalent.
