This means Mercy Hospital's Emergency Department is fully prepared to provide 24/7 critical care through immediate service, superior care, and peace of mind. Paramedics provide emergency treatment, including advanced life support, to patients in emergencies. By joining the Emergency Department team at Mercy Hospital as a Paramedic, you will assess the urgent medical needs of patients and stabilize their conditions. You will interact with other caregivers and be given directions on tasks to complete such as inserting IV lines, EKGs, assisting with patient transfers, and administering patient medications. Taking on this opportunity will help assist in patient flow and efficiency in the Emergency Department, which takes tasks off of the busy nursing staff. A caregiver in this position works varying evenings and hours between 3:00PM - 3:30AM, including rotating weekends and holidays.
