About The Position
As a Paramedic in the Emergency Department at Parkwest Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care during emergency situations. Our facility is recognized as a top-performing heart hospital and is dedicated to delivering outstanding care to patients experiencing medical emergencies, acute illnesses, and minor trauma. The Emergency Department is a fast-paced environment where you will work alongside a team of healthcare professionals, including RNs, LPNs, ED Techs, and Health Unit Coordinators, to assess and stabilize patients in critical conditions such as strokes, cardiac events, and severe injuries. With an average of 140 patient visits per day, your ability to think critically and act swiftly will be essential in ensuring the best outcomes for our patients. In this full-time position, you will be expected to work 72 hours per pay period, primarily on night shifts. The department operates on a self-scheduling model, allowing for flexibility in your work hours while ensuring coverage for the unit. You will be responsible for providing patient care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, adhering to regulatory standards and hospital policies. Your role will involve ongoing patient observations, recognizing changes in patient conditions, and implementing appropriate interventions to meet the specific needs of patients. You will also facilitate timely physician evaluations and participate in quality assurance activities to maintain the high standards of care that Parkwest is known for.
