About The Position

The position involves providing basic and advanced life support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients during transport. The role requires collaboration with physicians and registered nurses to stabilize patients and implement interventions based on established protocols. The individual will also educate patients and their families about illnesses and treatments, while ensuring the safety and maintenance of medical equipment.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from AHA.
• Paramedic certification from the relevant state department of health.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and stabilizes ill or injured patients during transport under physician or RN direction.
• Initiates and implements interventions based on team protocols.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition and treatment.
• Provides education to patients and families about illnesses and therapeutic interventions.
• Inspects, maintains, and cares for medical equipment to ensure safety.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• May interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on charts.
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Performs basic clerical duties such as answering phones and maintaining records.
• Assists with treatments ordered by providers under supervision.
