About The Position

White Memorial Hospital is seeking a Certified Paramedic for the Emergency Department. The Paramedic will be responsible for the care, transport, and treatment of ill or injured patients in both emergency and non-emergency situations. This role includes relaying and receiving information regarding patient conditions and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, departmental policies, safety practices, and hospital policies. The Paramedic must operate within the scope defined by the state of Indiana and possess the necessary knowledge and skills to care for patients across all age groups, including neonatal, infant, pediatric, adult, and elderly patients.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Emergency Medical Technician certification program.
  • Graduate of a Paramedic Training Program.
  • Current Paramedic licensure as specified by Indiana Emergency Medical Services Commission.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
  • Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification through the AHA.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the AHA.
  • Experience in ambulance service, hospital, or military settings.
  • Knowledge of routine and special procedures.
  • Knowledge of pharmacology and recognition of medication side effects.
  • Understanding of aseptic and sterile techniques to prevent infection.

Nice To Haves

  • Other advanced life support certifications as required by unit/department specialty.
  • Familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies.
  • General awareness of legal implications of patient care activities.

Responsibilities
