About The Position

The Critical Care Transport - Registered Nurse (RN) works under the direction of the medical director and supervision of transport management is responsible for providing safe and the highest quality patient-centered care to critically ill or injured patients from all age groups. This individual will deliver patient care in a variety of settings including, scenes, interfacility transport, and hospital. The Critical Care Transport – RN practices at a professional level that serves to build and maintain relationships with hospital departments, referring organizations, and 911 services in order to promote integrated delivery systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum Required: Diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum Required: One year of Critical Care/ICU experience.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skill, communication, and interpersonal skills in a highly stressful environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emergency vehicles and traffic laws and operations.
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
  • RN license or Nurse Compact license awarded by the State of WI.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) by AAP within six months of hire.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification (EVOC), Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), or Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT) within two years of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years of Critical Care/ICU experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification at time of hire.
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification at time of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) by AAP at time of hire.
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. certification at time of hire.
  • Certified Transport Registered Nurse (CTRN) or Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) within 2 years of hire.
