About The Position

Assesses, transports and administers basic and advanced life support treatment to ill and injured persons in accordance with department, system and South Carolina DHEC policies, procedures and standards. Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma/highest degree earned
• Completion of Approved Paramedic Training Program
• One (1) year pre-hospital care experience preferred
• Active South Carolina AND National Registry EMS certification
• Provisional SC Paramedic certification required to obtain conventional South Carolina certification and NREMT certification before the provisional certification expires

Nice To Haves

• PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Verifies operational readiness of vehicles and equipment
• Maintain cleanliness of MCAS vehicles
• Responds to calls received from the Dispatch Center
• Operates MCAS vehicles in a safe, courteous and efficient manner
• Assesses, monitors, transports and provides necessary medical treatment
• Prepares written documentation
• Attends staff meetings
• Performs POC testing with approval of Administration
• Performs other duties as assigned
