About The Position

Provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the Prehospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of Emergency Medical Care.

Requirements

• Minimum High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• For Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years’ relevant experience and current preceptor status.
• Medical Command eligible PA certification as Paramedic or licensed PHRN.
• Valid Driver's License.
• EMSVO within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS within 30 days of hire.
• ITLS/PHTLS within 2 months of hire.
• PALS within 30 days of hire.
• CPR – American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Nice To Haves

• Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness.
• Haz-Mat Technician.
• ICS 100, 200 and IS 700, 800.
• ABLS and ASLS.
• One year experience (AHN EMS).

Responsibilities

• Drives emergency or response vehicle.
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting.
• Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards.
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
