Small Business Lending, LLC. is looking to add a Paralegal to its team. The Paralegal will assist with Loan Closings and is responsible for supporting the legal closing process for SBA and conventional loan products, ensuring all documentation, due diligence, and compliance requirements are satisfied prior to funding. This role partners closely with Closing and Legal teams to facilitate timely and accurate loan closings in accordance with internal policies and SBA guidelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in commercial loan closings, specifically extensive familiarity with SBA loan documentation;
  • Familiarity with commercial loan closing documentation;
  • Highly Proficient with file management and PDF software, MS Office suite
  • Strong organization skills;
  • Ability to follow orders of senior legal staff, management, and show initiative;
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment;

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with using Simplifile platform and Finastra LaserPro is a plus;
  • Bachelor's degree preferred;
  • Paralegal certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports Closing Attorneys in end to end file management.
  • Pulls, reviews, and validates reports required for effective pipeline management.
  • Coordinates the ordering of title searches and related documents, and actively follows up with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
  • Prepares and compiles loan documentation in compliance with Internal and SBA Requirements.
  • Assists in the preparation, review, and assembly of loan documents in accordance with credit approvals, SBA SOP guidelines, and internal policies, ensuring all conditions precedent to closing are accurately reflected and satisfied.
  • Builds proficiency across a variety of loan types (including SBA and conventional products), understanding collateral structures, guarantor requirements, and documentation nuances to effectively support the closing process.
  • Coordinates and schedules closings that require a notary involvement by coordinating with notaries and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient execution of loan closings.
  • Facilitates the recording of loan documents, including mortgages and assignment of rents/leases ensuring proper submission, tracking, and confirmation of recordings in compliance with jurisdictional requirements.
