The role will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal and administrative support to the company’s in-house lawyers. This position primarily will focus on legal operations and department administration, including managing requests through the company’s matter management systems, overseeing the company’s document repository system and signature processes for commercial agreements, and proactively tracking deadlines associated with contracts and regulatory compliance requirements, and managing corporate documents and processes. The ideal candidate is a highly organized professional who works well independently and within a team, playing an integral role in the Legal Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred or work equivalent
  • 5+ years of paralegal and/or legal operations experience; at least one year in-house legal department experience preferred
  • Excellent drafting and editing skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Superior organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of legal technology tools and contract lifecycle management systems.
  • Experience conducting legal research using tools such as Practical Law, as well as fluency with Google Workspace, Adobe, Ironclad and Microsoft Office suites.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle matters of a sensitive and confidential nature.
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks with speed and accuracy under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to quickly understand the business and prioritize tasks and projects based on business objectives and operations.
  • Flexibility to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Growth mindset and collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation and daily workflows of the company’s matter intake and matter management systems for all legal requests.
  • Track active legal matters and projects, proactively managing deadlines associated with contracts and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and revise legal documents and, correspondence as directed by in-house lawyers.
  • Support administration of commercial agreements, including confidentiality agreements.
  • Contribute to agile but responsible process development for escalation and approval of high-risk projects or agreements.
  • Maintain and revise template forms and agreements, and maintain corporate documents and company policies.
  • Ensure that timely notice is given of renewals, terminations, and other critical contract-related events and lifecycle deadlines.
  • Ensure timely compliance with registration and other filings for all corporate entities of the company.
  • Maintaining board and governance records (minutes, consents, filings), and ensuring strong corporate hygiene through accurate, timely, and highly visible administrative support.
  • Conduct legal research to support compliance and risk analysis.
  • Support trainings delivered by in-house lawyers.
  • Work with other departments and teams to ensure cross-functional alignment.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
