The Paralegal will assist the legal department in the operations and administrative duties of the Legal Department, including being the first point of contact for the department. This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions in this job grade, with the final offer depending on factors like experience, education, location, and other relevant considerations. Additionally, this role qualifies for extra benefits beyond the base pay range mentioned. Requirements

  • Paralegal certification or experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential
  • Previous experience reading and making edits to legal contracts
  • Proactive, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel. Experience in drafting and editing documents in multiple formats
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and problem solve and multitask
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Able to maintain composure under pressure and display a high level of confidence
  • Leadership skills and willingness to assist in key strategic initiatives
  • Responsive to quickly adjust in deadlines and projects
  • A four-year degree is preferred. Alternatively, an associate degree in Paralegal Studies or an associate degree combined with five or more years of recent experience as a paralegal and/or work in a legal setting is acceptable
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary support and initial point of contact for the General Counsel in overseeing the operations and administration of the Legal Department
  • Monitoring and responding to emails; answering, screening, and directing communications
  • Organizing documents; maintaining records
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Legal Department’s work and context within the organization
  • Proficiency in performing legal and related research and effectively summarizing findings.
  • Familiarity with and ability to review technical and legal documents and contracts
  • Handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately and exercise discretion. (execution of a confidentiality agreement is required)
  • Liaison between Company and outside counsel on Company matters, including intellectual property, litigation, and compliance
  • Maintenance of various databases and ability to generate appropriate reports
  • Familiarity with the preparation, review, and filing of real estate, construction and zoning documents
  • Maintain corporate books and records for the company and its various affiliates
  • Exceptional ability for anticipating the needs and preferences of the Legal Department
