About The Position

The Paralegal position will be responsible for providing legal services to ENB, in coordination with the Associate Counsel, as required. This includes, but is not limited to, the review and fulfillment of legal requests received from Retail Operations, Deposit Operations, Loan Documentation, and other functions within the organization. Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation. Identify any business and legal risks and escalate to Associate Counsel. Demonstrate effective management of own time by setting deadlines and completing commitments with agreed-upon timeframes.

Requirements

  • High School graduate required or equivalent.
  • Pennsylvania Paralegal Certification.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in legal practice, including real estate, trust and estate matters, colleague and customer communication skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with a continuous improvement/lean mindset to build operational excellence.
  • Independent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Retail Provide guidance to Retail and Retail Operations Staff with legal questions regarding account opening and customer questions; escalate concerns to Associate Counsel as necessary.
  • Review entity documentation to confirm all required records are submitted prior to account opening.
  • Review POA documents to confirm they are fully executed and legally acceptable for intended transactions.
  • Review Trust and Estate Account documentation to confirm acceptability for account openings.
  • Review documentation submitted for Estate Account closing, Trust Account closing and Survivorship Affidavits to ensure accuracy of completion.
  • Deposit Operations Coordinate in-take upon service of Garnishments and obtain necessary documentation from Deposit Services regarding the Writ.
  • Draft and File Answers to Interrogatories.
  • Lending and Credit Review Title Binders to identify unacceptable exceptions to the Schedule and elevate to Associate Counsel and Credit for decision.
  • Partner with Associate Counsel to resolve exceptions in-house or to retain outside counsel for resolution.
  • Coordinate with Loan Documentation team to facilitate efficient resolution of documentation issues.
  • Third Party Vendor Contracts Review vendor contracts and ensure required terms when applicable.
  • Draft and/or coordinate revisions to proposed Vendor Contracts and communicate with business stakeholders the recommended revisions.
  • Administration and Legal Research Receive and process vendor management requests for financial and other updated documentation.
  • Review court dockets for status and venue of bankruptcy matters.
  • Review of Nrisk functions for Legal Department.
  • Provide administrative assistance to Associate Counsel.
  • Contribute to establishing procedures for legal review.
  • Conduct legal research via Westlaw/Practical Law and other applicable resources.
  • Contribute to projects for Associate Counsel deliverables.
  • Assist other members of the Enterprise Risk Management team as needed.
  • Other administrative duties as they arise.
  • Shareholder Relations Partner with Corporate Secretary to coordinate the Annual Proxy and maintain/file insider stock transactions.
  • Assist shareholders with completing and processing calls and inquiries. Track authorizations for Kemark Medallion Stamp administration.
  • Coordinate Board Member Compensation records between Executive Secretary and Finance.
  • Perform other duties as may be applicable or required.
