Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience at a law firm and/or in-house
  • Legal experience in software and technology businesses.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and desire to make legal processes more efficient and optimized
  • Familiarity with intellectual property, security, global data privacy and protection, regulatory, and contract law matters.
  • Focused attention to detail and ability to work independently with self-motivation

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of Splunk's products and the unique, relevant legal challenges specific to those products
  • Cultivate close working relationships with internal stakeholders, including sales, engineering, product management, business development, operations, finance, and other legals legal teams
  • Keep up to date on, and provide support, our product compliance programs
  • Support cross-portfolio user experience matters
  • Partner with both supply chain and sales to help support complex commercial agreements with suppliers, partners, and customers (under appropriate supervision)
  • Provide guidance to product management and engineering teams on new and existing services, products, and features throughout the entire product lifecycle
  • Provide guidance on developer tools and ecosystems
  • Be knowledgeable on issues related to privacy and data protection issues on a global basis
  • Coordinate inbound legal support requests for the Product Legal Team
  • Support collection and management of team KPIs
  • Support Product Legal-related policies
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of processes and knowledge management (including resource collateral, form agreements, team presentation standards, and playbooks)
  • Be adept at making sound judgments quickly to facilitate agile business execution.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to requests from internal clients.
  • Manage legal requests from multiple internal clients, while prioritizing key matters
  • Break down complex issues and communicate them clearly and effectively in plain English.
  • Be a great teammate, willing to pitch in and assist wherever needed.
  • Perform other legal and business-related duties as needed to support the success of the Splunk business.
