Gentry Locke Attorneys is seeking a full-time paralegal to join our growing team in Norfolk, Virginia. The paralegal will collaborate directly with multiple attorneys in the firm’s corporate practice group. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, corporate registration and formation; preparation and review of commercial (not residential) real estate documents; filing documents with various local, state, and federal level governmental agencies; maintaining due diligence documents; extensive client contact; and maintaining organized client files. The paralegal may provide administrative assistance to attorneys as needed. A successful candidate will be ambitious and organized and work well in a fast-paced in environment. The paralegal must have the ability to prioritize and see projects through to completion. A minimum of 3 years’ corporate paralegal experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel is essential. The willingness and ability to learn and expand on current technology skills including versatile cloud apps is required to navigate the robust technology package the firm maintains. Reviews and analyzes cases in order to assist in preparation of case for a litigation or corporate matter. Reviews and analyzes matters for the purpose of preparing evaluations and status reports for clients. Assists Attorneys by preparing documents such as drafting complaints and answers, routine notices, affidavits, motions, petitions, case status reports and corporate documents. E stablishes, organizes and maintains corporate documents, pleading boards, attorney trial boxes and notebooks, expert witness notebooks, document indexes and lists based on practice group. Locates and confers with expert witnesses and resource people. Arranges for expert witness inspections and obtains approval from counsel of record and specified parties. Performs legal research and manages voluminous records. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
