About The Position

The Paralegal provides essential support to the in-house legal team. This role is crucial for managing the complex legal needs of a dynamic business, with a significant focus on contracts, litigation support, and ensuring seamless coordination with external legal partners.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or a Bachelor's degree paired with a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of drafting clear, concise legal documents.
  • Proficiency in legal research platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work autonomously, and meet deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with contract management software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and external legal counsel.
  • High level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity when handling confidential information.
  • A proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the review and finalization of a wide variety of construction-specific agreements, including subcontracts, master service agreements, vendor agreements, purchase orders, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and change orders.
  • Help develop and maintain standardized contract templates and playbooks.
  • Provide comprehensive support for litigation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution matters, including assisting with discovery processes, including identifying, collecting, reviewing, and producing relevant documents.
  • Act as a key liaison for external law firms that support various cases, consultations, and specialized legal needs.
  • Assist in managing legal invoices from external firms.
  • Conduct targeted legal research on construction law, contract law, regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, environmental regulations), and other pertinent legal topics.
  • Assist with various corporate secretarial duties, including maintaining official corporate records for the parent company and its subsidiaries and managing state registrations of various legal entities.
  • Develop and maintain highly organized electronic and hard copy filing systems for all legal documents.
  • Manage legal calendars, schedule meetings, and handle general administrative tasks for the legal department.
  • Work closely with project managers, operations teams, finance, and other internal departments to provide essential legal support and guidance.
