Inner City Law Center (ICLC) is a nonprofit law firm located in the Skid Row neighborhood of Los Angeles. We are looking for extraordinary people to help us end homelessness in Los Angeles. Founded on the fundamental principle that every person should always be treated with dignity and respect, ICLC fights for justice for low-income tenants, working-poor families, people who are disabled or experiencing homelessness, people living with HIV/AIDS, and homeless veterans. Inner City Law Center seeks a full-time Paralegal to assist our Affirmative Litigation team. The Litigation team helps tenants understand the direct connection between housing and health, provide information and materials necessary to empower tenants to assert their right to habitable housing conditions, and help with the process of filing health and safety code complaints with landlords and the Los Angeles County Health Departments. They also provide landlords with information about their responsibilities and various resources and programs, attempting to work with them to voluntarily repair their buildings. The team educates landlords, through litigation if necessary, on their responsibilities and the steps that must be taken to turn their slums into healthy homes.
