If you are looking to start a rewarding career as a personal injury paralegal, this is your opportunity! The paralegal trainee role is a full-time paid position with benefits! After one week of orientation in our Milford, CT location, the 6-8-week training program takes place in our North Haven location. After successful completion of the program, the trainee will transition to a paralegal position in the North Haven location or in one of our other locations depending on commute and business needs. Other locations are in Milford, Bridgeport, Hartford, New Britain, Waterbury, and Stamford.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to demonstrate patience and empathy
  • AS degree in legal studies or legal office experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology beneficial
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Efficient time management skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Proactive
  • Team player who can also work independently
  • Ability to navigate various software programs, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Adobe.

Nice To Haves

  • AS degree in legal studies or legal office experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Communicate frequently with clients in person and by phone
  • Provide timely follow up and follow to clients, attorneys, and medical providers
  • Accurate and timely documentation of case activity
  • Obtain police reports and medical documentation
  • Monitor liens and confirm balances
  • Prepare documents and statements for attorney review
  • Prepare file status reviews
  • Complete file opening and closing tasks
  • Prepare and send correspondence
  • Process scans/mail received daily
  • Assist with phone coverage as needed
  • Perform tasks under the direction of the Attorney and/or Supervisor
