General Description We are seeking a Paralegal - Real Estate to join our team. The Paralegal – Real Estate will assist attorneys and practice groups in real estate financing transactions, acquisitions, and development projects, including preparing legal documents, conducting research, compiling data, preparing document drafts, and maintain responsibility for files, calendars, and meetings.

  • Communication skills to interact with all levels of internal staff, attorneys and management and external clients of the firm.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills sufficient to make decisions regarding daily work.
  • Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Knowledge of real estate terminology and transaction procedures.
  • Experience with real estate document management systems.
  • Familiarity with title review processes and requirements.
  • 5 – 10 years of experience as a paralegal with significant focus on real estate transactions, particularly financing, acquisitions, and development
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice To Haves

  • Paralegal certification a plus
  • Experience with commercial real estate transactions
  • Familiarity with ALTA surveys and title policies
  • Experience with electronic closing platforms

Responsibilities

  • Gather, organize, summarize and index documents from various sources.
  • Prepare and organize real estate closing documents, including loan agreements, mortgages, deeds, and title documents.
  • Conduct title searches and review title commitments and surveys.
  • Assist with due diligence for real estate acquisitions and development projects.
  • Coordinate with lenders, title companies, and other parties to facilitate closings.
  • Prepare closing binders and maintain transaction databases.
  • Attendance at and participation in meetings and/or closings.
  • Preparation of documents and correspondence.
  • Special projects and duties as assigned.
