Provides support to attorneys and is assigned to particular functional areas such as real estate, labor and employment, litigation, intellectual property, corporate and finance and the like. The role will be responsible for providing drafting, review and closing assistance with outlot sale and leasing transactions, as well as analytical and operational support with law firm management to include billing, firm on-boarding and tracking practice analytics. What You’ll Be Doing: Work under the direction of an attorney. Resolve routine legal issues. Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, etc. Investigate factual matters, draft documents and contracts, and maintain corporate records. What You Bring With You (Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree required Paralegal certificate preferred. Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field 2+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Ability to perform legal research. Ability to interview witnesses and document what is learned. Good writing and communication skills. Ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule. In depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles. Ability to draft legal documents (agreements, pleadings, corporate resolutions, exhibits, position statements, etc.) for approval by the supervising attorney. Ability to summarize legal documents. Ability to create and manage a database. Ability to facilitate responses to government agency inquiries as well as private litigant subpoenas. Conduct and document thorough investigations. Proficiency in PC skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
