About The Position

We are seeking an ambitious and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Litigation Paralegal. This role is ideal for recent graduates or experienced individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience in the management of complex cases throughout the litigation process. The successful candidate will work closely with our attorneys and will have a strong desire and eagerness to learn about the Litigation, Labor & Employment, and Legal Ethics Practice Areas.

Requirements

  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment driven by multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to manage and effectively prioritize a large number of projects at the same time.
  • Positive, pro-active, professional attitude, with a strong desire to learn about law with a hyper focus on litigation and employment law and legal ethics.
  • High level of initiative and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Complete discretion and ability to work with confidential information.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Adept using Microsoft Office 365 suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel) as well as Adobe PDF creator and editor.

Nice To Haves

  • College graduate or current student pursuing a degree in which legal studies, business, government or employment is a component of the degree.
  • Prior work experience in a legal setting.
  • A paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to ongoing litigation matters.
  • Analyze and summarize legal information to assist attorneys in building strong case strategies.
  • Assist in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests. Prepare and file court documents, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements.
  • Maintain organized and current electronic and physical case files from opening through the closing of files.
  • Assist in preparing correspondence and communication related to litigation matters. Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Apply analytical skills to identify and assist in resolving issues; proactively suggest appropriate solutions and recommendations to enhance final work product.
  • Perform other special projects, paralegal duties and other related assignments.
