SUMMARY DESCRIPTION The Paralegal, Litigation, Employment Law and Global Operations will report to the Deputy General Counsel, Litigation and Employment Law and be responsible for assisting law department attorneys on a variety of legal matters, with specific focus on litigation, employment law and global operations matters. In that capacity, the paralegal will also work closely on a routine basis with the Deputy General Counsel, Global Operations and with other law department attorneys on occasion.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree; Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • At least 3 years of litigation paralegal or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft Office, LawTrac. Experience with other relevant applications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review document production requests, determining scope and identifying required resources, and confer with Deputy General Counsel, Litigation and Employment Law on most efficient approach to comply within all parameters and deadlines given
  • Draft, produce and disseminate communications, upon request, to company colleagues for the preservation and collection of evidence, both hard copy originals and electronic files as appropriate, in response to document requests, government regulatory inquiries and subpoenas
  • Maintain wide variety of contact with company colleagues to track their responses to preservation and collection requests from the law department
  • Review, draft and collect relevant information and documents in response to requests received by law department related to employment law, product liability and commercial matters. Maintain appropriate communications with law firms retained to represent the company
  • Review files gathered prior to production for attorney-client privilege as well as completeness and specifically in their responsiveness to requests
  • Coordinate copy, scanning, digesting and print projects with vendors, including preparing purchase orders and confidentiality agreements and logistical coordination, which cannot otherwise be done in-house; quality review completed projects
  • Maintain detailed indexes and diaries of productions, as well as manage deposition and trial testimony
  • Oversee and assist with creation and maintenance of case and other legal databases; collect and/or identify data for input into legal databases such as deposition testimony
  • Assist attorneys in interviewing and preparing witnesses for depositions
  • May conduct legal and other factual research as needed
  • May assist attorneys in the drafting of legal documents, including, without limitation, contracts in support of Global Operations and other corporate functions
  • Provide administrative support, as needed, for law department attorneys including support relating to document filing, expense submissions, scheduling and invoice processing
  • Develop an understanding of and familiarity with the company’s business, people, products, technology, markets, facilities, customers and competitors in order to assist the company in meeting overall strategic objectives
  • Handle a high volume of legal work and respond promptly to client demands efficiently and practically
  • Ensure all work is accomplished with quality and responsiveness and in accordance with Integra LifeSciences values
  • Be a valued business partner within the law department and to other internal clients
  • Handle special projects as may be assigned by law department attorneys from time to time
