The Paralegal Instructor at Triton College is responsible for delivering high-quality education in the field of paralegal studies. This position requires a commitment to student success and the ability to engage students through active learning strategies. The instructor will be expected to teach courses that align with pre-approved objectives, ensuring that students gain the necessary knowledge and skills pertinent to the paralegal profession. The instructor will also be responsible for creating and updating course syllabi, preparing and delivering final exams, and submitting necessary documentation such as midterm enrollment verification forms and final grade reports in a timely manner. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the instructor will need to maintain effective communication with students regarding their progress and inform them of relevant educational and occupational opportunities. The role also involves collaboration with the department chairperson and other faculty members in curriculum development, course outline preparation, and selection of textbooks. The instructor is expected to hold office hours for student consultations and to utilize instructional technology effectively in the classroom. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in paralegal studies, with a Juris Doctorate or a certificate from an American Bar Association-approved paralegal program. Previous experience as a paralegal or in a supervisory role is preferred, along with teaching experience. The instructor must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with diverse student populations. This position is part-time and requires flexibility in scheduling to accommodate class times and office hours.
