Paralegal - Family Law
About The Position
Miller Law Group is seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident, supporting attorneys in active matrimonial and family law matters. This role is ideal for someone who can manage deadlines, draft family-law-specific documents, and support case preparation from intake through resolution. This is a hybrid position: you will work in the office three days per week, with the ability to work the remaining days remotely. Additional in-office days may be needed at times for onboarding, trial preparation, or other time-sensitive case needs.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of paralegal experience in a family law firm or family law practice (required)
- Candidates without family law experience will not be considered
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable handling multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Paralegal certification (strongly preferred)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare family law filings and supporting documents, including motions, pleadings, judgments, affidavits, asset lists, and child support worksheets
- Support attorneys with case development and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating logistics
- Conduct legal research as needed
- Manage calendars, deadlines, and case files to ensure matters stay on track
- Schedule court appearances, mediations, depositions, and client appointments
- Assist with discovery preparation and review, including interrogatories, document requests, disclosure statements, and production materials
- Communicate with clients and serve as a liaison between clients and attorneys, including conducting client interviews when appropriate
- Provide in-court/trial support as needed
