GEICO is seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Paralegal, Litigation in the Enterprise Litigation and Investigations division of GEICO’s Corporate Legal Department. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with exemplary organization, discretion, and reliability, able to deliver high-quality support in a fast-moving environment. The candidate must be able to consistently maintain accuracy and professionalism while efficiently adapting to shifting priorities and proactively supporting complex litigation and investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 - 7 years’ experience in a paralegal role supporting litigation in a law firm or in-house legal department (required)
  • Experience with any e-Discovery platform
  • Experience with matter management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office® applications (e.g., Word®, Excel®, Outlook®, PowerPoint®)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Maintain litigation files from inception to resolution
  • Conduct legal research and identify relevant laws, regulations, statutes, and court options
  • Review, organize, and analyze evidence
  • Maintain and monitor calendars for key deadlines and court dates
  • Identify and collect documents for production requests
  • Perform research and analysis of courts and jurisdictions, including trends
  • Review deposition transcripts and draft summaries
  • Prepare for mediation by creating event timelines, compiling supporting documents, and preparing file summaries
  • Organize and label documents and exhibits for use in legal proceedings, hearings, and trials
