Paralegal – Insurance Staff Legal Office (Pennsylvania) We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Pennsylvania insurance staff legal team. This role supports attorneys in managing Workers’ Compensation defense claims within a fully electronic, paperless environment. Responsibilities include drafting Compromise & Release (CNR) agreements, subpoenas, and legal filings; preparing medical summaries; conducting legal research; and coordinating case activities with clients, vendors, and opposing counsel. The ideal candidate will have experience with Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation procedures, proficiency in WCAIS , and strong organizational skills to manage deadlines and compliance requirements. This position requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced litigation setting.

Responsibilities

  • Case Management Organize and maintain litigation files in a 100% electronic system.
  • Track case deadlines, hearing dates, and ensure compliance with Pennsylvania procedural rules.
  • Prepare medical summary reports for attorney review.
  • Draft Compromise & Release (CNR) Agreements for Workers’ Compensation settlements under attorney supervision.
  • Ensure agreements comply with PA Workers’ Compensation Act and Bureau requirements.
  • Coordinate execution and submission with attorneys, clients, and opposing counsel.
  • Draft and submit subpoenas for Workers’ Compensation matters under attorney supervision.
  • Ensure timely receipt and summarization of records.
  • Coordinate payment for records.
  • Research statutes, case law, and procedural rules relevant to insurance defense and workers’ compensation.
  • Summarize findings for attorney review.
  • File pleadings and motions via e-filing systems.
  • Ensure proper service of process and compliance with local rules.
  • Accurately track billable time and expenses.
  • Assist with budgeting and cost control for litigation matters.
  • Navigate WCAIS for filing petitions, uploading documents, and tracking case progress.
  • Ensure compliance with Bureau of Workers’ Compensation electronic filing requirements.
  • Monitor deadlines and alerts for hearings and mediation scheduling.
