About The Position

The Paralegal Assistant position at Stackhouse Development is a full-time role focused on supporting the legal department within a dynamic family office managing approximately $1B in assets. The role involves assisting the Director of Contracts and Transactions with various legal, administrative, and organizational tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the department. Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Administration, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a paralegal assistant, legal assistant, or similar role.
  • Familiarity with contract management, legal terminology, and corporate law principles.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from an accredited paralegal program.
  • Experience in property management, land development, or construction law.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Track and manage the lifecycle of contracts, including renewals, terminations, and amendments.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external parties to gather required documentation and information.
  • Conduct legal research on various topics, including compliance, regulatory requirements, and case law.
  • Organize, maintain, and update legal files, databases, and records.
  • Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations based on legal findings and contract analysis.
  • Manage and schedule meetings, appointments, and correspondence for the Director of Contracts and Transactions.
  • Coordinate legal department activities, including team communications and project tracking.
  • Assist in handling invoices, expense reports, and budgeting for the legal department.
  • Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the company.
  • Support the compliance team in maintaining records and ensuring regulatory adherence.
  • Ensure timely filing and retrieval of corporate documents, contracts, and legal records.
