Position Summary: Assists litigation team by providing clerical and research support services, compiling and preparing discovery responses, document preparation and review; research, investigations, and fact checking; drafting and analyzing legal documents, and collecting, compiling and utilizing technical information, to make recommendations to an attorney.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Associate degree in paralegal studies
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree
  • Five plus years of relevant experience with emphasis on litigation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Proficient in the use of technology related to operations, such as litigation (RisKonnect) and document management (NetDocs), litigation holds (Relativity)
  • Strong analytical, inter-personal, drafting, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Collegial, possesses mature interpersonal skills and is able to quickly adapt to changing demands
  • Litigation skills

Responsibilities

  • Creates reports and documents for lawyers based on case specifications and requests
  • Manages and updates claim management system document management systems for ongoing and completed cases
  • Organizes and maintains legal paperwork, files, exhibits and other important information
  • Stays up to date on legal procedures and regulations as they relate to the paralegal's field of practice
  • Conducts various types of research related to laws, legal articles and other information relevant to a case
  • Performs a variety of administrative tasks including preparing reports, filing paperwork
  • Perform other related duties as required
