About The Position

The Paraeducator for Speech/Language Therapy position involves providing assistance to licensed speech therapists in implementing programs related to speech and language therapy needs for students. Responsibilities include observations and data collection, implementation of therapy techniques and interventions, and executing teacher/therapist directives with students. The employee will work on days when students are attending school, approximately 170 days per year.

Requirements

  • Enjoy working with special needs students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Passing score on the state paraeducator assessment, or a minimum of 48 college hours, or a post-secondary degree
  • Employment subject to drug screening, physical exam, criminal background check, and TB screening

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed speech therapists in implementing therapy programs
  • Conduct observations and collect data
  • Implement therapy techniques and interventions
  • Execute teacher/therapist directives with students
