About the position

The Sunnyvale School District is seeking a Para Educator for Special Education. This position involves supporting students with special needs in their educational environment, assisting teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), and fostering a positive learning atmosphere. The role requires collaboration with educators, parents, and other professionals to ensure that students receive the necessary support to succeed academically and socially. The Para Educator will also be responsible for monitoring student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers, and participating in training and professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Knowledge of special education practices and principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree or higher in education or related field.
  • Certification as a Para Educator or similar qualification.
  • Experience with specific disabilities or special needs.
