Paraeducator- Special Education 1:1

About the position

The Paraeducator - Special Education 1:1 position is designed to provide support to students with special needs at Auburn Senior High School. The role involves working closely with individual students to assist them in their educational activities and ensure they receive the necessary support to thrive in a school environment. Paraeducators are hired for specific positions, and building assignments may change based on the needs of the district. The position requires a commitment to fostering an equitable and inclusive environment for all students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with special needs in their daily educational activities
• Provide one-on-one support to assigned students
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to implement educational plans
• Monitor student progress and behavior
• Help create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere in the classroom

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Documentation of one of the following: a copy of an official college transcript indicating an AA degree or higher, 72 quarter or 48 semester credits earned in 100 level and higher courses, or official documentation of a passing score on Washington State approved assessment
