About the position
The Paraeducator - Special Education 1:1 position is designed to provide support to students with special needs at Lake View Elementary School. Paraeducators are hired for specific positions, and building assignments may change based on the needs of the district. The role requires working 6.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday, across a work calendar of 181 days. The starting pay for this position is $27.40, classified under the PSEA Salary Schedule.
Responsibilities
- Support students with special needs in a 1:1 setting.
- Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Provide academic support and guidance to students.
- Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to enhance student learning.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Documentation of one of the following: an AA degree or higher, 72 quarter or 48 semester credits in 100 level and higher courses, or a passing score on a Washington State approved assessment.
