About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associate's Degree or passing the Educational Testing Service competency examination.
• Certification in first aid, CPR, and/or operation of defibrillators may be required.
• Experience working with culturally diverse families and communities.
• Ability to manage students who may be emotional or distraught.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Skill in using office and computer equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience working with children in a learning environment.
• Bilingual skills are preferred.
• Familiarity with inclusive strategies for students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in assessment, curriculum implementation, and student interactions.
• Support students with daily tasks such as eating, dressing, and toileting.
• Teach independent living skills including cooking and personal hygiene.
• Implement physical and occupational therapy plans to enhance student mobility and positioning.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and community members while maintaining confidentiality.
• Supervise students during recess, bus duty, and other activities to ensure safety.
• Provide instructional support and tutoring in various group settings.
• Document student behavior and maintain progress reports to assist teachers.
• Assist with clerical duties such as making copies and record keeping.
