About The Position

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Accompany special or alternative education students to alternate sites for necessary supervision.
  • Assist certificated teaching staff in supporting individual or small group instruction for special population students.
  • Monitor and support the instructional environment to ensure necessary support for students during the school day.
  • Collaborate with certificated teaching staff to adapt curriculum and activities for individual student needs.
  • Communicate with instructors, specialists, and parents to ensure progress in student learning.
  • Maintain inventory of instructional aids and materials.
  • Maintain manual and electronic documents and records for reference and compliance.
  • Participate in activities with certificated staff and specialists to support parents of students.
  • Perform specialized health care procedures and administer prescribed medication as needed.
  • Prepare instructional materials to support certificated staff and students.
  • Provide intervention for special education students in crisis to ensure a safe environment.
  • Provide daily instruction regardless of the presence of professional staff.
  • Respond to behavior and emotional problems to provide necessary supervision.
  • Supervise and assist students in the use of adaptive and assistive devices.
