About The Position

The Paraeducator - Instructional Support position is designed to assist classroom teachers in delivering daily instruction across various areas, including content remediation, intervention, enrichment, and extension activities. The role involves tutoring students, supporting discipline, preparing instructional materials, proctoring tests, and maintaining student records, contributing to a positive learning environment.

Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent (GED).
• Two years of study at an institution of higher education (72 quarter hours) or an Associate's degree (or higher) or a passing score (461) on a state local Para assessment exam.
• Proof of qualifications must be included in the application for consideration.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field.
• Recent previous paraeducator experience.

Responsibilities

• Tutors students individually or in small groups as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Communicates student needs to the teacher and other school staff.
• Maintains and assists with student discipline, promoting positive behavior.
• Supervises students during building activities, such as assemblies and special programs.
• Assists students during building emergency drills.
• May attend staff meetings and building events, such as open houses.
• May participate in related professional development activities and workshops.
• Maintains effective communication with classroom teachers and administrators.
• Exhibits professional conduct when interacting with students, staff, and parents.
• Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
