Under general supervision, assists certificated teachers in a special education classroom or with students with severe behavioral, physical, language or learning disabilities; assists in training basic academic, social and physical skills necessary to care for individual needs; assists in the feeding, lifting and individualized care of students; prepares instructional materials and performs basic clerical support in the classroom; assists with assessing student progress and tracking academic data; provides supervision for children outside of the school campus, before school, during recess, at lunchtime, and after school; and performs related duties as assigned.
