About The Position

The Paraeducator position at Chandler Unified School District is designed to provide instructional and clerical support to classroom teachers in a K-12 setting. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• AA degree or 60 semester hours from an accredited university, or satisfactory results on an AZ state-approved competency exam.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment including computers and related software.
• Satisfactory criminal background check.
• Adequate vision and hearing to perform job responsibilities safely.

Responsibilities

• Instruct individual students or small groups to reinforce material or skills introduced by the teacher.
• Translate oral and written materials for parents, students, and staff when required.
• Distribute and collect workbooks, papers, and other instructional materials.
• Copy, collate, and file worksheets and requested documents.
• Develop and create bulletin boards, signs, and classroom displays.
• Assist with assessments, grading papers, and maintaining records under the supervision of the teacher.
• Operate and care for instructional equipment.
• Supervise students during emergency drills, assemblies, and lunch periods.
• Report any issues or special information about students to the teacher.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Ensure student well-being and safety during care.
• Report any observations of substance use or dangerous situations.
• Assist in maintaining a quiet and orderly classroom environment.
