Paraeducator - Extended School Year 2026
About The Position
Paraeducator Extended School Year 2026 To assist teachers and therapists in supplying individualized instruction to elementary, middle school and high school students in classroom and small group environments. To facilitate and supplement the educational process under the direction of a professional staff member. Responsibilities include communication facilitation, carrying out programs designed by the teaching staff, managing behavior, teaching self regulation skills, and supporting and facilitating social engagement with peers. Physical responsibilities may include lifting, carrying, personal care, and the ability to assess a situation and respond quickly.
Requirements
- High school diploma plus at least 2 years of additional education
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in education or related field
- Ability to commit to worl all 5 program weeks
- Knowledge of best practices regarding student management protocols
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with English language learners is desirable.
- Evidence of strong connection with students and families
- Understanding of summer learning and previous experience in a summer learning program is preferred.
