About The Position

7 hrs a day (8:00 am - 3:30 pm, 30 min. lunch) - Special Education Paraprofessional - Tier 3 (Resource Room Program - ASD/Behavior) Location may change and/or hours may increase or decrease due to student and/or program needs. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated understanding of student needs, ability and desire to work with special needs students.
• Ability to assist student(s) with multiple challenges in the classroom/school environment.
• Ability to follow through with prescribed behavioral management or instructional programs.
• Ability to maintain composure and communication during stressful situations.
• May need good physical flexibility such as ability to run, walk, lift and/or respond to student physical needs.
• Willingness to be trained in area(s) of student health related awareness and intervention.
• Willingness to accept assignment at multiple and potentially differing sites and locations depending on individual student needs as determined by the District.
• Willingness to be assigned as general help during "down-periods".
• Maintain various records and file, parent contact may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist student(s) with personal needs, including but not limited to hygiene, diapering, toileting and clothing.
• Assist student(s) with multiple challenges in the classroom/school environment.
• Follow through with prescribed behavioral management or instructional programs.
• Maintain composure and communication during stressful situations.
• Maintain various records and file, parent contact may be required.
• Accept assignment at multiple and potentially differing sites and locations depending on individual student needs as determined by the District.
• Assigned as general help during "down-periods".
• Wheelchair assistance may be required.
