About The Position

In the 2026–2027 school year, Santa Fe South proudly continues the growth of El Camino Elementary, our sixth elementary campus. After opening its doors in its inaugural year with Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade, El Camino is now expanding to include 2nd grade and adding one additional teaching position at each existing grade level. The school will continue to grow annually, adding one grade per year until it reaches 5th grade. The Role of a Founding Paraprofessional at El Camino The Founding Paraprofessional plays an essential role in supporting student learning, classroom culture, and the overall success of El Camino. Paraprofessionals work closely with teachers and school leaders to ensure that all students receive the support they need to thrive. This role is especially important in a founding school, where strong relationships, consistency, and teamwork are critical to building a joyful and high-expectations learning environment. As part of a growing campus, paraprofessionals are both supporters and builders. They help establish classroom routines, reinforce schoolwide expectations, and contribute to a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for students. This role requires flexibility, patience, and a commitment to learning, as paraprofessionals adapt to the evolving needs of students and the school community. Founding Paraprofessionals support high-quality, standards-aligned instruction by working with individual students and small groups under the direction of the classroom teacher. They assist with academic instruction—particularly in literacy and mathematics—by reinforcing skills, providing targeted practice, and supporting student engagement. Paraprofessionals also play a key role in monitoring student behavior, supporting transitions, and helping students develop independence and positive learning habits. Through observation, communication, and collaboration, paraprofessionals help ensure all students make meaningful progress while contributing to a culture of joy, compassion, and excellence at El Camino.
