About The Position

Seeking energetic, enthusiastic and patient individuals to work as a Behavior Intervention Staff or Paraprofessionals at our Streamwood campus. Must possess valid Paraprofessional Professional Educator License (PEL) in the state of Illinois. This work involves close interaction with staff, students, and administration, with primary emphasis on the implementation of educational, behavioral and social/emotional programs for each student that will enable them to reach their fullest educational potential, while building their self-esteem. A Behavior Intervention Staff member or Paraprofessional works under the direction of Classroom Teachers, the Principal and Clinical Director. An employee in this position is expected to exercise independent judgment, discretion, a high degree of confidentiality and react appropriately in escalated situations. Behavior Intervention Staff and Paraprofessionals are expected to exhibit initiative, creativity, and above all patience.

Requirements

• Valid Paraprofessional Professional Educator License (PEL) in the state of Illinois.
• Energetic and enthusiastic demeanor.
• Patience and ability to work with students with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Implement educational, behavioral, and social/emotional programs for students.
• Work closely with staff, students, and administration.
• Support Classroom Teachers, the Principal, and Clinical Director in their duties.
• Exercise independent judgment and discretion in various situations.
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
• React appropriately in escalated situations.
• Exhibit initiative and creativity in the role.
