Position Summary The WCEL Classroom sub para-educator is an hourly position under the direct supervision of the Classroom Teacher during classes, and the Early Learning Program Manager for reflective supervision and professional development. The schedule for this role will be as follows: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings (typically from 8:30/9-12:30, but dependent on the class being offered that day) Wednesday afternoons (1-2:30, biweekly for team meetings) All staff meetings and trainings, as needed

Requirements

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff as a foundational team member.
Ability to lift and move play equipment
Reliability and flexibility
Organized with attention to detail and a "can do" positive attitude
Minimum of high school degree/GED
Vehicle in working condition, driver's license, and auto insurance
Ability to communicate proficiently in English and Spanish is highly preferred

Nice To Haves

further course work in human services and/or child and family related fields preferred
Experience working with typically developing young children and children with delays or disabilities preferred

Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining indoor and outdoor safe learning environments
Set up necessary supplies and materials for learning activities
Help create necessary items for learning activities as needed
Assist with setup and cleanup classroom program service areas (indoor and outdoor) for all group activities
Welcome and assist children and families at arrival and departure times
Interact directly with children, parents and families in developmentally appropriate learning activities
Welcome and assist student and community volunteers in all programs
Clean and vacuum program areas, wash (and sanitize as necessary)dishes and toys, maintain diaper changing stations and launder and fold bibs/towels as needed.

Other duties as needed
