The ParaEducator: Special Education assists teachers in caring for the instructional and physical needs of students with disabilities, including those with physical, cognitive, and/or emotional disabilities. The role involves performing instructional tasks as outlined by professional staff based on student Individual Educational Programs (IEPs) and the delivery of the curriculum. The ParaEducator supports differentiated instruction and educational environments to enable all learners to gain knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm for learning. Responsibilities include assisting in individual and group activities, reinforcing instruction, motivating students, facilitating classroom management, and collaborating with teachers and other service providers to support specially designed instruction at various grade levels. The ParaEducator must be able to perform all listed duties independently, which may vary based on assignment, ultimately promoting accelerated student achievement and well-being.
