About The Position
The Para-Educator, Special Education position is designed to assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of students in an assigned educational program. The role involves helping children meet the goals and objectives of their Individualized Education Plan (IEP), attending to their physical and health needs, monitoring and reporting student progress, and performing various clerical and supportive duties related to classroom activities and management. This position is distinguished from other student support roles by its focus on providing instructional support to students with disabilities and assisting with their physical needs to ensure equal educational opportunities. The position may serve as a stepping stone towards further professional development opportunities as an Instructional Support Specialist or a certificated position.
