About The Position

We’re looking for a forward-thinking Panel Shop Manager to lead our fast-paced, growing custom panel shop in Midland. In this role, you'll guide a skilled team, oversee panel production, coordinate materials and schedules, and ensure every build meets our high-quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys solving problems, and brings strong technical understanding of panels, PLCs, VFDs, and industrial controls. Requirements

  • Strong experience in panel building or electrical assembly.
  • Knowledge of PLC components, VFDs, instrumentation, and industrial controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Solid computer skills (documentation, tracking, ordering, scheduling, etc.).
  • Proven leadership experience in a shop or field environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Forward thinker who anticipates needs and resolves problems quickly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and team development.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol test.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, mentoring, and scheduling panel shop technicians and apprentices.
  • Overseeing daily production, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met at a UL508A approved fabrication facility.
  • Coordinating workload, materials, and priorities to maintain efficient shop flow.
  • Partnering with engineering, project managers, and field teams to align on project requirements.
  • Overseeing the assembly, wiring, and testing of custom control panels to UL508A standards.
  • Providing technical troubleshooting and guidance to the panel shop team.
  • Reviewing and interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal quality processes.
  • Supporting PLC and VFD-related panel work, including layout, wiring, and basic programming or setup.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives in processes, documentation, and workflow.
  • Managing inventory, tools, and materials to support efficient operations.
  • Working with leadership to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved productivity.
