About The Position

Summary/Objective The Panel Room Operator is responsible for prepping and assembling all materials needed to build a press rig for pressing in the press room. Press rig construction involves cutting material to size, cleaning/surface prepping the materials, and stacking them together in a specified pattern. The press rig is then sent to the press room and loaded into a press where heat, time and pressure laminates materials together. This process is used to create a base panel, to laminate a cover onto an etched panel without leads under the cover, and/or to laminate bond ply, foil backing or other layers together. Cut material according to requirements in the work package. Surface prep and clean materials as required. Stack materials/build press rig according to specific instructions as required. Deliver completed press rigs to specified area for pressing. Deliver completed base panels to Dark room for processing. Deliver covered panels (without leads) to Quality for inspection. Check racks/specified areas for panels awaiting covers and back foil. Use clicker die press to punch out covers and foil backing as required. Use proper documentation to record lot numbers of raw material used. Follow routine cleaning process for daily, weekly, monthly cleaning. Build and maintain good working relationships with team members and management. Participate in continuous improvement training and projects. Support all internal and external audit activities as needed. Always maintain safety when handling panel and press rig materials. Follow all company policies, procedures and safety rules.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Basic math and measuring knowledge
  • Able to speak and read fluently in English.
  • Experience in material handling, surface prep, cleaning.
